Why can't I just lie, dammit?
I have this terrible compulsion to tell the truth, even when it gets me into trouble. And now my grandparents are shocked....just shocked that I catch up on work on Sundays. It's the Lord's day!! :wow:

2. They're upset you do a little work on Sundays?
Your honesty is just the way you are. Don't ever change.

7. Well, you don't have to lie if you just learn to keep quiet about
some things. If you know some specific things upset some people, you don't have to lie, or deny anything. You just learn to say nothing at all.

I know. I've done the same things in the past. I've learned to zip it when the situation warrants it.

10. Then you did the right thing.
An outright question requires the truth. They are just going to have to deal with it! People need to understand, if you don't think you're going to like the answer, don't ask the question!

9. The work you will be doing, are you using any of your
God given talents?

If you are, then you are paying homage to God by using the talents he gave to you. :freak:

And isn't sloth on of the 7 deadly sins?

11. That's too bad!
Sorry to hear you have a compulsion towards honesty...! }(

But count your blessings...I have to catch up on some work tomorrow also but alas! I have no grandparents to shock, they've all been dead and buried the past forty years!

12. I'd say, my dear progmom, that it's about time your grandparents
learned a couple of things: first, that you are truthful even under adverse circumstances, and second: People need to work whenever they need to, and when they have time to...Welcome to the 21st Century! Good grief...They probably can't accept it, though. I suspect that they are inflexible on this point. My condolonces, though.

They should be PROUD, IMHO!

13. thank you
and they are proud. amazingly supportive and proud beyond belief. it's just that for so many years i avoided having to work on sundays, probably mainly to please them...so i think it was a shock. they don't even get the paper delivered or go into shops on sundays.
