It was either come to the office and surf the net and listen to tunes or stay home, quilt, and read Harry Potter some more. Getting a little burned on those activities, frankly. And there's no AC at home, it was getting me down.

I'm at work because work is more fun than home, but I really should be actually working... my boss is going to HAVE A COW if this TPS report isn't in the bag monday morning. The last two weeks I've been a bit idle during business hours, and I need some hours too.

16. Tonight I'm night auditing at a motel.

I do that a few nights a week and the rest of the time I dispatch. I can't log on when I'm dispatching so you can always guess where I'm at if I'm on here late at night.

check in customers, bookkeeping, doing a basic audit of all expenditures daily and a more comprehensive one at the end of the month.
Dispatch-I do 9-1-1 combined(multi agency. Police, fire, EMS).

23. Dispatch is hectic but I enjoy it much more.

We joke around all the time and I feel like I'm really doing something for my community. The hotel job sucks because you get drunks or people wanting to cheat on their spouses in here at all hours of the night. Plus, my bosses really suck.

I remember we housed the "exotic" dancers at our motel. I worked the 4-12 shift.....

We had a switch board with the wires. It was cool...

there was also this very wealthy woman who moved into the first floor, this wasn't the best motel in the city, by no stretch of the imagination. She took over three "suites"....

About ten years late, I read in the paper this woman moved out of their mansion after her husband of four years died on a fishing trip in Canada. Just let the thing go. Wouldn't sell it and she lived for over fifty years in the Lakewood Manor Motel.....

but I've gotten in my five hours or so. DAMN, I wish I could sleep longer! But I have a truckload of bills to pay - I am the queen of procrastination - so I think that's what I'll do now. If I can get off of DU, that is...

I first have to see if there's any news from Egypt. My son is leaving for Cairo in three weeks, and I'm scared shitless for him. Talk about not sleeping - I probably won't sleep for the next ten months while he's gone. :(
