A totally empty, useless slogan if I ever heard one.
"No, I wish our troops would get killed. I hate America." :eyes:

I always sounds as if they are ORDERING God to bless America. I thought of getting a bumper sticker that says,
"May God have Mercy on America"
to see whether it would cause somebody to trash my car.

5. "America is the Greatest Country on Earth" |
|
especially when spoken by someone who's never travelled.
I love living in the U.S., no question about it. I'm pleased to be an American.
But seriously, every country is proud of themselves. Every country is filled with patriots who believe their country is the finest. Our lot can be a particularly intractable and assholish, however, and I admit it annoys me to no end to hear some folk gas on about our many wonders.

With the stylized flag. 'Cause apparently they forget that biblical dealie about pride going before a fall.
And we're seeing how accurately that one is coming to pass.

If I saw that ad preceding a film. Luckily, I generally can only afford movies at the second-run drafthouse theater.

What the hell does that mean? It must be patriotic, because it's on a bumper sticker with a picture of a flag.

Hmm... I should come up with something sarcastic to say to the idiots who feel that they need to put that stuff all over the back of their car.

Usually said by redneck freepers to support bombing someplace or killing people. Also said any time there is the slightest suggestion that military spending is out of control and to deride war protesters as heretical scum.

They use that tired old saying to justify any military action, and most of the time it has nothing to do with anyone's freedom.

22. "My Country, Right Or Wrong," Sir |
|
Is an unfortunate mis-quote. The entirity of what Com. Decatur said is: "My country, right or wrong. When right to be kept right; when wrong to be put right." That has always struck me as a most genuine expression of patriotism in the best sense of the word.

There's so many of those giant ass Yellow stickers on cars around here that I've stopped counting. I guarantee you most of the people who put them on their autos wouldn't think you could support the troops and want the President and his administration led out of DC in chains.
