"Reality movies" - do you see the day they will be made?

Computer generated extras cost about the same...

1. They already had one, it was called "The Real Cancun" or something

like that. It was fiction but made with no names, some kind of Spring Break flick. As far as I know it sucked and disappeared quick.

When people are paying 8-9 bucks a pop for movies they're not going to be satisfied with "reality" fare. Not me, anyway.

Three minutes had barely gone by before I prayed for a Freddy/Jason/Myers type to arrive and make short work of those vapid, oversexed WASPS.

I mean, there's probably not a future Gandhi lurking in that crowd, right?

2. There was also "Jackass" from the MTV folks. I think that did OK.

4. Yeah, but those people are professionals.

It was a scripted and (somewhat)staged movie with months of planning (Everything they planned to put in the movie was written up in advance). The only difference was that the surrounding setting was in reality mode.

10. A lot of stuff on "reality shows" like MTV "Real World" is staged like

crazy.

The casts of many of these shows are loaded with twentysomething gen-X actor wannabe clones now also.

There's very little "real" about most "reality" TV.

"Reality" TV shows build up their audience by hyping the show each week as contestants are limits. All the gossiping and speculations as seen on this forum, unfortunately, demonstrates how they sucker in viewers with eliminations rounds conducted by malicious conspiring among the contestants which builds up to a big finale that is always anti-climatic.

It wouldn't translate into a 2 hour movie the same way.
