OK, I’ve met someone.

I haven’t met a man I thought I could date in nearly three years. But I met one Friday night. It turns out we’re both regulars at my favorite bar, but we have missed meeting each other for months. His name is Joe. He is a trombone player. (Oh, yeah.) We met through mutual friends, some of whom I’d just met that night. The second we started talking, we just hit it off. Bam, just like that. That’s only happened to me once before in my life. And he’s already called me. None of that stupid three-day rule of when you’re supposed to call someone and ask them out or anything. Or however long “they” say you’re supposed to wait.

It’s funny. I was just whining to GOPisEvil last week about how I don’t understand how people can find someone …. It just goes to show you that you never know who or what is around that corner --- and to never give up or feel sorry for yourself. (Although sometimes I don’t take that advice myself.)

But, I’m not gonna jump the gun and imagine it’s going to be great. I mean we have only just met. But I have a bit of hope. Wish me luck.
