Rant: Why do total strangers tell you EVERYTHING about them? |
|
Last weekend I took a three hour bus ride from Boston to Umass Amherst. First hour was okay, but we stopped in Worcester, some woman got on about two seats away from me and starts a loud conversation, telling 2 poor souls behind her, total strangers, EVERY detail about her life, each and every one of her relatives and their problems, the situation in the Middle East and her religious philosophies, for ONE FUCKING SOLID HOUR!! This lady wouldn't SHUT UP!! I was looking at some of my seatmates and their eyes were just rolling into their skulls. Thank God she got off in Springfield...
And a few days later on the trip back, they had an in-bus movie on the built-in TV screens and showed a FUCKING ADAM SANDLER MOVIE! Called Spanglish I think. Of course there was no way to tune that out, had to listen to that shit for two hours...
Okay I'm done...so tell me about some of YOUR travel experiences...

2. I was taking a 4 hour bus ride to get to my 9 hour train ride, |
|
As soon as I got on the bus I pulled my coat over my head and fell asleep. I woke up and we were stopped. We were not at the train station so I asked the girl next to me what was going on. She said they just made someone get off the bus. This elderly woman smelled so bad that the bus line called a taxi to take the woman to the train station. I was a little mad about it to tell ya the truth. I did'nt smell her.
So now I am on the train sitting in the front row of the train car. The elderly woman was on the train in the car ahead of me in the last row. Every time the door opened from one car to another I could smell her. She smelled like death. I had worked in a nursing home and know what a sick dyeing person can smell like.
I felt bad for her, while everyone around her complained about her. It made me sad that the woman was dyeing and people were offended that "she smelled".

I once took the train from Chicago to Sacramento, and this dude told his life story THREE TIMES to three different people!
The first time was bad enough, but the second two times I realized that Amtrak is Hell.
That and we hit a car.
