Dragonslayer (love this movie) Labyrinth (with a young but still beautiful Jennifer Connelly).
There's others that I liked, the names just aren't coming to me right now.

I agree, a very good serious fantasy film.
Labyrinth was fun too, and I love David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly.

The LOTR trilogy is the best fantasy movie (rent or buy the extended version) while Legend is undoubtedly the worst.

however, Jackson's Trilogy finally showed that a major epic fantasy novel could be done beautifully on film.
I have a list of books I would like to see Peter Jackson tackle!
