There are people with low counts keeling over and people with extremely high counts living for ages. My doctor thinks that because I'm diabetic, way overweight, etc. my cholesterol should be sky-high too. Mine stays in the 160's. The last time they did an ultrasound and CAT scan of my heart-No clogged arteries, no heart problems- it's more genetics than anything. I tell my doctor that on my mothers side of the family, they look like me and live into their 80s and its not a heart attack that gets them.
