I Just Watched A Recorded Episode Of "Queer As Folk"... |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-25-05 09:02 PM by arwalden
=============================== CAUTION: PLOT-LINE SPOILERS AHEAD ===============================
During the candlelight vigil for those that were killed and injured when Babylon was bombed, a Christian "Phelps-like" heckler shouted at Debbie that her son, Michael, deserved to die, (even though he didn't die) and that he ought to burn in hell anyway.
At that point, Ben--Michael's husband--completely lost control and started punching the "Phelps" character's head. Cold-cocked his ass. POW! -- He absolutely cleaned his clock!
Punch, punch, punch right to the face. The man goes down. Ben hops on top of him and punches his bloody pulp of a face even harder. "You're the one who should burn in hell!", Ben yells. As he continues to pummel his fists into the man, Ben mumbles "You're not even a human being!"
Was it wrong for me to enjoy that violent and bloody scene so much? Normally I abhor violence, even in fiction... but it was quite satisfying--and even EXHILARATING--to see one of the Christian fucks get what was coming to them.
Yeah, I know it's fiction. But it was a great story line that I really enjoyed. I was surprised at my reaction to it though.
Did you see it?
-- Allen
edit: reworded & added clarification... Michael didn't die.

3. This Is The Final Season. -- It's An Exciting Final Three Episodes. |
|
And Michael didn't die. Debbie was telling the crowd how lucky her son was, but that he nearly died. That's when the man started shouting that Michael DESERVED to die (even though he didn't).

2. I haven't watched that show for a long time |
|
At least a year or more. I had no idea that Michael was killed! I suppose I'll have to catch up one of these months. I don't know why I got out of the habit of watching...
I'd love to see this episode, though.

I always thought the shows and original movies on HBO were a lot better. I was also trying to save money, but the difference in price was only a couple of dollars.

5. OK...here's the deal... |
|
Michael isn't dead. He was injured in a bombing at Babylon (which Brian now owns).
Yeah, I saw the episode last night...I never miss it. But, there's only two episodes left, so if you're gonna watch, you need to do it the next two Sundays. You can also see it on "On-Demand" as well.
As far as your reaction...I was cheering Ben too! Fucker deserved it!

Sorry, but I am getting tired of the gay bashing.
Wasn't it a great episode. Dang, only two more left. Makes me very sad.
