<snip>

LOS ANGELES -- Mel Gibson's next project is going to be much like his last.

His spokesman Alan Nierob said Gibson is planning to make another historical epic. :eyes:

Like "The Passion of the Christ," "Apocalypto" will be shot in archaic language. And like "The Passion," Gibson plans to bankroll it himself.

Variety said "Apocalypto" is set in Central America 500 years ago will feature a cast of unknowns native to the area in Mexico where the film will be shot.

Gibson reportedly won't appear in the film and isn't going public with the plot.

The filmmaker has reached a deal with Disney to release the movie domestically for a fee.

1. "Apocolypto?" Gee, Mel, what could possibly be on your mind?
Maybe this one will bankrupt him out of existence, so to speak! :evilgrin:

3. Oh Mel
What happened to you? Remember Mad Max or the Thunderdome? Remember being the crazy cop with a heart in lethal weapon? And now... I don't even know what to say.

5. He definitely does things out of the box.

He's seems to be a hard person to figure out. I've read that his father is a religious zealot, so, he could be following in his fathers footsteps. I've also read that he is having a Catholic church built on his property. He seems to be going way overboard. But, I don't know him and I won't judge people I know--and definitely not someone I don't know. Just hope he doesn't ruin his career.
