What did you wanna be when you were 5 and what do you do now?
Another complete waste of time thread:

My answer:
I wanted to be a firefighter when I was 5, and I am programmer now.

1. Wanted to be a country singer
until I discovered rock a few years later. Today I'm a housewife, tomorrow, who knows? :). I just ride the tide.

7. I am Told That When I Was Five (or Even Before)
my answer to this question was "a thinker." My parents loved it. My conception, IIRC, was that I would sit in an office, people would come to me with their problems, I would think about them and give them an answer. At that point, I didn't distinguish between a consultant and a therapist.

Didn't happen, though. I'm an ex-therapist and now a writer.

But I'm beginning to think being a watertower was a good idea. My aunt wanted to be a human bean, which perhaps I should aspire to, as well.

Khash.

Like Lewis and/or Clark. I'min grad school now, but I've worked out at sea for a few years, and I've been to Antarctica, and spent a bunch of time on a small island in the central Pacific.

Did I realize my dream? You tell me, I think I'v done okay--ane I'm still going for more!

39. A crack dealer.........
But then, by the time I was six, it morphed into a crystal meth lab operator...

By seven, I was writing the letters to the editor in Penthouse. You'd recognize my work, it always started with I never thought I would be writing this...

Then, it took a turn for the worse, at Eight I was a gun runner, dodging bullets that I know had my name on them as I ran across the western skyline tooting M-16's stolen from an Army depot deep in the Sudan...

Nine, well, I was dragging by then. I needed a rest so I hitchhiked my way across the US and ended up in a northern California commune where I met and married my first wife, Sally Struthers. I introduced her to the African problem and, hey man she took off with it...

But I soon grew weary of the hippie life style, which I knew was bankrupt, divorced SS when I turned ten. Those were difficult years. I was in Gestalt Therapy down in Malibu and until I was about 13, I draw a complete blank......

Well, you know the rest....

Suffice it to say, the dreams of a five year old don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world we're living in.....
