DU West Wing Fans, who is going to miss VP Hoynes?
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 04:05 PM by NNguyenMD
I was pretty sad to see him go, I liked him a lot because he was such a totured soul, a man you could see wanting to do the right thing but at the same time battling his own personal ambitions and demons. I think a lot of people rising in the professional world can relate to John Hoynes in many ways. He was probably one of hte most real characters that appeared and best resembled today's politicians better than anyone else.

Tim Matthieson played Hoynes beautifully, I wish we could have seen much more of him these last 6 years.

And I agree with a previous poster that it would have made for far more interesting television if Hoynes got the nomination and maybe Santos getting VEEP. But they're from the same state so thats not likely at all.

As for Hoynes's indiscretions, they could have made such geat television but replaying the brilliant spinning Begala and Carville did when stories of Clinton's indiscretions began popping up during his first presidential campaign in which he beat an incumbent president who had just won a war.

So I feel that they somewhat wasted Hoynes's character, he was a very complex one indeed.
