if i remember the story aright, he was given 6 weeks to live

he lived 20 years

if the diet is just to lose weight and to be pleasing to the eye, would be unwise to go on such a diet while fighting cancer or another serious ailment

eat what you like whenever you have the appetite

if the diet has a serious chance of extending your lifespan you may want to consider it

but if the doctor is just giving you a diet as a handjob when there is no real hope, again, eat what you like

but we are never in the situation where we know we only have six months to live, we might have six minutes, or six decades

have a small piece of chocolate or a small cube of good cheese every day

I'd be doing all those "nasty" drugs like I used to do all the time. And I'd be looking for hot guys. Chances are I'd lose weight w/o a diet.
