4. One Christmas I folded all my old XMas cards into little boxes
and made them into a wreath. I tied a bow on it that I stiffened with starch I made myself.

It looked good for about a minute!

I still enjoy making wreaths, but they look much better now.

work on ends up looking like you know what. :P

I think that was an interesting idea for how to reuse old cards, though.

7. I enjoy beadwork and such. Here's the last bracelet
I made- and made a matching anklet, too, since I have a tattoo above my ankle to show off. :).

I don't have any of my own beads or wire or anything to work with anymore. I got to make these with my neighbors stuff. Someday when I've got some extra $$ I intend to start my hobby again.

One time I found a stone with black garnets growing on it- was the coolest thing ever in my mind. :7

That little passion lasted just a few months though, lol. Seems I never stick with one thing for very long. Always been like that. Beadwork and hemp though, that's something I've always managed to crawl back to.

28. Thank you for the compliment
The red beads are all antique, the small ones are white hearts and the polka dot ones are ghost beads. The cool orange and blue swirly ones I got in a Soho, London bead shop. All the metal in the jewelry is silver.

39. no. I purchased some of those from a place called
Garden of Beadin'. I got ten strands of the white hearts and a strand of the black ghost beads sight unseen, from them. The white hearts were $65 (for the hank-all ten 20" strands) and the black ghost beads (about a 24" strand) was $150, IIRC. That was in 1992-94. Single ghosts were $5-$10, depending on quality. Single strands of white hearts were $10ish, also depending on quality. The red ghosts I got in Seattle and I think the strand was also $150. The silver beads I bought in various places, either singly, or in bulk.

The multi coloured necklace is leftover beads, and stuff off the black ghost bead stard that weren't ghost beads.

I try to buy more than I will ever need. And it's worked. It's like yarn-buy enough for the project from the same dye lot before you start! :)

Worth it, though, for something so unusual looking and pretty. I think I'd like to take a jewelry class, but I'm not very good at learning things that involve a lot of intricate work. My friends who knit get frustrated when trying to teach me how to do it! :P

It's mild steel that I wire brushed when I was done forming it and sealed with furniture wax, then buffed.

29. I am an artist. Here is one of my recent paintings.
I had watched the 1st season of Nip Tuck over the course of one weekend. I had the theme song in my head when I started this. Theme song just says "Make me beautiful" in a hypnotic kind of way.

This was just the beginning of the painting and changed by the time it was done. I can't access the pictures of them though.

I used oil pastel crayons on a board like surface. I was painting over something else I did'nt really like.

52. Thanks for the compliment but
Interior/design as a career? That made me smile, you joke of course.

I've sold a few of these pieces to friends but that's about it. They cost me about $20 to make a piece in material, but the labor is done in my garage, when I feel good, makes me about $15/$20 an hour.

I really like the process of making something and don't have patience or skill for the selling
of my pieces.
