1. Both:
the water is essential for transporting sugars and nutrients around and also serves to maintain turgor pressure.

The sunlight is essential for creating said sugars.

11. These are Red Legged Kittiwakes
(Rissa brevirostris).

They are endemic to the west coast of Alaska, and there are only a handful of records for the lower 48.

And they're superior to sharks. :-)
