Jessica Simspon: Now it all makes sense... |
|
Just watched Countdown on MSNBC. Apparently, one of the reasons Jessica Simpson is so popular is that DJs across America took payola from Sony BMG to play her music on the air over and over and over again.
This no-talent bubblehead sells out arenas in big cities while people with genuine talent have to settle for smaller concert halls and tea rooms. Where's the justice, America?!?

1. payola---that is how records got played in the old days |
|
people from the record companies would bribe DJs to play their newest records like so many times a day and that is how hits were made back in the 1950s.

6. I'm wondering if that also has something to do with... |
|
...the ultra-saturation of not just single songs being played over and over, but of the phenomenon I've noticed where they play multiple songs by one artist in the rotation, so they'll have like three or more songs charting at once. I remember Ja Rule ending up on a bunch of songs at once around like 2002, and 50 Cent had like five songs charting at the same time when this last album came out. It's like they try to get all they can from an artist as quick as possible.

All thanks to Sony BMG payola. Thanks a lot, fuckers. We as a nation could be grooving to Old 97's instead, but nooooooooo!!! You had to go for the bleach-blonde Republican ditz. I don't care how good she looks in a stars-and-stripes bikini. Our kids deserve better role models than this.

12. that shows you what type of company Sony is |
|
not only have they been caught paying djs to play Jessica Simpson all day long, but they also had fake movie reviewers write glowing artiles for some of their movies earlier. Oh, and at the recent E3 convention, Sony ran cgi movies of what they "hope" they could actually reproduce with the PS3--despite the fact that there were NO PS3 realtime demos of actual gameplay available.
