3. MOODY BLUES
"The Story In Your Eyes"

I've been thinking about our fortune
And I've decided that we're really not to blame
For the love that's deep inside us now
Is still the same

And the sounds we make together
Is the music to the story in your eyes
It's been shining down upon me now
I realize

Listen to the tide slowly turning
Wash all our heartaches away
We're part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day

But I'm frightened for your children
That the live that we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we've been waiting for
Will turn to rain

Listen to the tide slowly turning
Wash all our heartaches away
We're part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day

But I'm frightened for the children
That the live that we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we've been waiting for
Will turn to rain

When the final line is over
It's certain that the curtain's gonna fall
I can hide inside your sweet sweet love
For ever more

9. I thought she always used "Run Like Hell" for the opening
Maybe I'm just so used to the show that I didn't notice she mixes it up.

but Kathy uses alot of stuff, including the Pink Floyd classical disk.

Sorry for the confusion...

10. No, there is no lyric! It's the opening he uses every night--just
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 09:54 PM by Gloria
at the very start of the show.

It starts with a strong beat, with a little flute-like trill, then horns and what seems like chimes going down in a "scale" like fashion.....then horns again...very strong opening...

It sounds too strong to be the Moody Blues...and I've never heard them play it on that concert show they've done on PBS....

11. That would be Run like Hell
Pink Floyd (but Kathy uses the version off the 'classical' version with a symphony performing the song!)

14. Final question!! Where is Mike's version from...what album??
I heard a bit of a version at Amazon from the live "Anybody..." album but that is not the version he uses, at least I don't think so.

Mike uses a version with horns....and strings?

15. I think it's the first one listed here..

5. Hey! Has anyone else seen these orchestral albums?
There are currently three albums of orchestral cover versions of Pink Floyd songs, the first two played by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the third by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The band itself was not involved with any album.

Orchestral Maneuvers (previously titled Objects of Fantasy)
Arranged, conducted, and produced by David Palmer, who did similar albums of Jethro Tull and Genesis. The album includes "Run Like Hell," "Another Brick in the Wall, pt.1," "The Happiest Days of Our Lives," "Another Brick in the Wall, pt.2," "Goodbye Blue Sky," "Money," "Hey You," "Wish You Were Here," "On The Turning Away," "Shine On You Crazy Diamond, pts.1-5," and "When The Tigers Broke Free/Eclipse."
Generally, it's not bad, but sometimes it borders on "elevator music." Interesting listening, at the least. A few of the tracks contain vocals. Also on the album are Steve Hackett (from Genesis), and Clare Torry.

Hits of Pink Floyd
Arranged and conducted by Hermann Weindorf. It includes "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," "Money," "Us and Them," "Hey You," "Another Brick in the Wall," "Wish You Were Here," "Time," "The Great Gig in the Sky," and "In the Flesh."
While such things are, of course, subjective, this album has generally gotten better reviews than Orchestral Maneuvers. It's also, to my knowledge, only currently available in Europe.

Us And Them - Symphonic Pink Floyd
Arranged by Jaz Coleman. Conducted by Peter Scholes. Includes : "Time," "Brain Damage," "Anotehr Brick, Part II," "Comfortably Numb," "Breathe," "Money," "The Great Gig In The Sky," "Nobody Home," "Us And Them," "Time."
Again it is subjective, but this album is generally considered the best of the bunch. This one is done so well that while the songs are still distinguishable, you can still forget that it is Pink Floyd and just enjoy it as a classical album.
Also in the area of orchestral versions of Floyd songs, The London Symphony Orchestra recorded an arrangement of "Another Brick in the Wall" for the Classic Rock - Rock Classics album.

16. OM's version has a "soundtrack" of a live audience?
I'm sure that's what I hear welling up as the intro progresses.......
