How Do you make a banner?

1. It can be as easy as a simple GIF or JPEG image

Anything after that is strictly up to you!

2. How do you do a personal one?

3. Depends on what you want on it

You'll probably need something like Microsoft PhotoDraw or PaintShop to get you started. Just read the instructions or try the "learn by doing" method with all the drop menus and buttons, and see where it takes you.

I use PhotoDraw to create bumper stickers and banners all the time. Never designed a personal banner, though.

4. Is PaintShop a special feature? Do you have to buy it separate?

Instead of paying full price at a computer store, see if you can find a slightly older version on eBay or at a used bookstore that also sells software. You'd be surprised what you can come across.

7. I've used white sheets--painted.

Fabric paints.

If you have money a fair sized banner can be had for $75 or so from a printer.
