WHAT empty nest syndrome? |
|
Last kid off to California, Me and hubby eating pizza and watching movies. No kids. No drama about school or boyfriends or girlfriends or cars or whatever. Bliss. New grand baby expected next month. Other grandson safely in Hawaii with Mom, and we're going to visit in a month or so. And since I've already had a couple of returnee experiences I think I'm going to miss out on the whole empty nest thing. Ahhhhh, this is so...good.

I thought I was going to die with grief as my boys left home. They are both a little over an hour away so I do get to see them fairly often but when they are gone it is so quiet....after I pick up :eyes:.
I thought I would die, now I see that life is good, just different.

3. Well, like I said, I've had a returnee or two |
|
Tne novelty wears off. And if I'm honest, there is always the possiblity of another one returning, so I enjoy peace and quiet while I have it. (Sobbed like a baby when my oldest daughter left for boot camp, but that was over 8 years ago)

4. My boys are still little |
|
So I can't imagine them not being with me, and the thought of them moving away, well, I just can't think about it. But, there is a side of me that will enjoy having freedom back. I won't deny it. I just think htat because they're so little and dependent on me, it's hard for me to imagine that it will ever not be the case. But I'm sure my perspective will have changed before then... I hope... Damnit

it will but it still is not easy. I don't know how one does it when they go far away. I am so lucky that my boys each found a school that suited their needs so close to home.
Won't be long and they will be gone though. *sigh*
