Sure, you can chase the water OVER a waterfall, but that usually ends with disastrous consequences. I know this to be true because I've seen it in cartoons.

The actual waterfall, on the other hand, stays pretty much in the same location*, negating the necessity of chasing it.




*bearing in mind the average human life expectancy or a tectonic shift, mind you.
