1. Coffee has no redeeming qualities...
Hence, why I love it.

(I also sneak in Green Tea throughout the day)

17. Yeah, it's similar to what is causing all of the hype about coca...
... currently.

Since this *is* the Lounge I refuse to look up any
links supporting my opinion.

3. I have that too
That's what I was drinking until I went back to coffee. I will still continue to drink the tea though. I have been a tea drinker for more years than I have coffee.

22. Psilocybin is an acceptable substitute
You can grow it yourself, if you're sufficiently handy with a pressure cooker. :)

There's also about twenty different common species of DMT-bearing houseplants. No head should have to go without a nearby source of inspiration!

19. Ha! It worked great as a pre ad-agency work drink too.

Thanks for the link. I was there for the events of 91-92 in that list. There was also a Miami commissioner election I remember, where one of the candidates waved a gun around at a polling site (he went down to defeat). Also a heated exchange between two Cuban candidates, born in the U.S., about whose relatives(!) had denounced Castro first. Lively times :)

12. Have you ever tried "Good Earth's" green tea?
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 09:49 AM by stellanoir
It has lemongrass in it. Yummmmmm.

FYI Green tea does contain varying levels of caffeine. This brand has 30% of the caffeine in coffee. I made the switch from coffee to green tea in January and have been far less stressed out. My Dentist said my gums had never looked healthier.

Am not anti coffee though. Different things work for different people. My metabolism just is much happier with tea.

18. I buy the Primo Japanese Green in foil vac pac for about $20 lb..
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 10:17 AM by sam sarrha
this is the very fine stuff that they use for the zen tea ceremony.

my friends and I just Broke up a Kilo.. I got 6 Oz's for about $1.50 each. we get together after a Buddhist meeting and go down to the asian grocery and shop and get tea's. then go back and break up a big Brick of Green Tea... it is vacuum packed hard as a brick..

we get a different tea each month and brew up some and split it up..tea tasting is fun.. i have developed my own special mix..green, Dhan Tra, and Pu Aire (spl) which is a favorite by itself.. it is a fermented tea, and has an acquired taste.

you ned you get an amount you will use before it gets 'old'. you can tell old green tea because it makes an amber or yellow colored tea.

it is a fun social activity..

I also enjoy Yerba Mate, I buy that by the Kilo.. you use more to make it, Http://www.ecoteas.com has the "PRIMO" mate. the stuff for guests.. I also get Ruiboos..the red tea there, it helps my 84 year old mother's insomnia really good. i usually drink Chrucus(spl).. Mate' has a pretty rank alkaloid taste.. but it has all kinds of nutritional things and it represses the apatite, that is why the south americans are so slim, that and the 'Samba.!!'
