Anyone been to San Fernando, MX or anywhere on the Laguna Madre?
I live in the Houston area, and now that I have a dependable car, I am itching for a road trip! I've been looking at maps for places that wouldn't be a bad drive into Mexico. I'll probably be traveling alone, unless I find a friend who wants to go with me, so staying with pretty safe roads and towns is important.

I know this area got hit pretty hard by Emily, but my experience with Mexico has been that they get back to business as usual pretty quickly after a hurricane.

So, I was thinking about staying in San Fernando and going to Carboneras, and maybe even going south to La Pesca.

I just thought I'd see if anyone here knows the area and has any suggestions for me. I'm hoping to go in about 2 weeks for a 3 or 4 day weekend.
