1. Some other variant.
I drive fast but am a firm believer in the "stay right except to pass" concept.

Is your finger extended?

20. That's how I drive, too
I'm always watching in the rear view and the side mirrors, and if someone is coming up who is going faster than me, and I'm in the left lane, I will ALWAYS pull over to let them pass as soon as I finish my pass - and if I'm passing a string of cars, if there's space to duck in between them, I will do so in order ot let the faster car go by.

Unless, of course, the faster car is being driven by an asshole fuckwad who insists on not even giving me a chance to pull over and flies up and immediately starts riding my ass.

Then I slow down and stay even with the traffic I'm passing until someone else comes up behind us and needs to pass.

I fucking hate tailgaters.

And I hate the asshole filth who won't get out of the way of other cars, and I hate the asshole filth who insist on driving in the left lane EVEN WHEN THERE'S NOT ANOTHER CAR FOR MILES.

Goddammit, that pisses me off.

GET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY!!!

And I'm not even one of those speed freak assholes, either.

I just believe in civility and driving like a sensible, aware human being.

5. Not really any of them.
I travel the fast lane only to pass someone. I stick to the second to left lane the rest of the time, until my exit is coming up, and then I transition to the right lane, slow down and exit. I stay about 5mph of the posted speed as well, but rarely go any faster unless I'm alone on the road, and then I might go to 10mph over the posted limit.

I hate tailgaters, and have in the past, knowing how many whackos are out there, simply let them go past me without argument. If they're in that big of a hurry, let them go!

I DO swear to myself about those who travel the fast lane at speed limit. I will go around them if I need to, though I have to be crafty about it.

6. If you go less than 95 mph
you come up behind cops instead of them coming up behind you,
so better to go about 90 and just weave in and out about.
Its amazing how much faster the "slow" lanes can be for
this zig zagging.

9. I stay in the fast lane
since I'm usually going faster than most traffic. I do move over if someone wants to pass me, and I expect people to move over if I want to pass them. But I don't go all psycho on people like my dad used to when I was a kid :scared:

10. If I'm driving from Fargo to Mpls. or vice-versa...
I drive the whole way in the fast lane. Then I change lanes to the slow one once I get within a mile of my exit.

14. don't hang out in the hammer lane
drive courteously and set cruise for speed limit.

blink trucks in and turn on blinkers right beside a truck and go up at least 4 car lengths before i change lanes in front of a truck.

in deer country, at night, get a sweet spot between 18-wheelers.

handheld CBs cost 50 bucks and are useful for interstate travel.

17. I stay in the right lane with my cruise control at exactly the speed limit
(weather conditions permitting) and I only pass if someone is going slower than that ... I hate lane-changers and stupid drivers. The only other time I switch lanes is to let people on when they're merging onto the highway, and half the time the morons merging are too stupid to realize that traffic has moved over for them and they're at a dead stop at the end of the on-ramp....sheesh.

21. I tend to stay in one lane, and that's normally not the fast one...
I HATE to change lanes, and here's why: One night I was coming home; this was on surface streets, BTW. I needed to move from the center lane to the right hand one, so I looked (briefly), turned on my signal, and moved over....right in front of a carful of psychos! No, I didn't hit them. But oh boy were they pissed. I had not seen them, and apparently I had cut them off. They followed me onto the fwy, honking, flashing their lights, screaming and yelling...SCARED me to death. I stayed in the right hand lane, moved along slowly, and hoped to God they would NOT shoot me...They finally got tired of harassing me and pulled around and away from me. This was several years ago, and to this day, I am extremely cautious about changing lanes. I tend to get into the lane I will need to be in, and I STAY there...

:scared:

22. Used to be as fast as I thought I could get away with
Now I'd just rather leave a bit earlier (or better yet, plan the sort of trip where it didn't really MATTER) when I get there, and take my time, with the cruise control 7 or 8 mph above the limit

28. Usually fast lane unless someone comes up who wants me to pull over.
Or if the slow lane is going 5 miles over the speed limit I'll stay there. I like going fast but speed-limit-plus-5 is my rule and I'm in whichever lane allows that.
