11. Strong Corsican Goat Cheese
the kind they make in the mountains, so strong it'll cause your eyes to tear and burn your palate. The Corsicans like to fry it up on a skillet along with some famous Corsican figatelli (a kind of spicy pork sausage). You can smell it cooking for blocks around.

12. Whenever I play a medieval-themed RPG video game..
I always seek to be the archer character.
(The Might & Magic series comes to mind immediately..)

I like the distance advantage, and the ability to snipe the enemy.

20. For all his sins, William the Conqueror was the first to see the
advantages of bringing in serfs, with their bows and arrows. The first long distance weapons. And the serf's got paid. I think. Damn, maybe he screwed them too. Anyone done the research? Please?

39. A pet pig was once used as a Medieval weapon
During the long siege of the town of Carcassonne in southwestern France, a lady heaved her pet pig over the ramparts at the besieging army. The city was almost out of food. The attackers were so impressed with the fact that the castle seemed to still have so much food that they could waste it like this that they gave up and went away.
