In the kitchen with biscodawg -- philly cheese steaks
Ok so I'm going to try something new here on DU: cooking threads! Well my roommate has been on my case to make him some philly cheese steaks so today at the market I got the ingredients and here we go.

Notice the beer, it makes cooking a lot of fun. This is essential.

Please wash your veggies before cutting them up.

Damn that was a dull knife!

Cut them up however you like. This is how I do it, but I am lazy you might like it finer/thicker, whatever.

Now melt some butter, or use oil to saute the veggies

yummy!

Damn this is hard work, I need a break!

If you took a break like I did, then wash your goddamn hands people! Thats just gross.

The Veggies are done, now set aside

Now its time to butter up the rolls to place on the grill

After placing the rolls in the grill, put your meat on too. It only takes around 30 seconds for the first side. Then flip and put cheese on.

MMM

After the cheese is good and melted throw the veggies on and put on roll and let the good times roll.

Now its time for the taste test, well what do you think Bob?

The smile says it all folks!

damn I look scary :D

I'm wondering if the steak stuff is a regional thing. I've never noticed those around here before.

So what are you cooking next time? :bounce:

the REAL stuff not kraft, and thank you very much :) I just buy the "philly steaks" we have in the freazer at the store. My supermarket totally sucks to, so I'm sure your place of shopping would have it.

18. Well done, b-dawg!
That's one of my favorite artery-clogging treats! My project for tomorrow: fried chicken. I'll be using a variation of the Train Station Chicken Recipe from our good friend, BartCop. Wish me luck! I think I'll leave my digital camera in its case, though.

32. Screw you
I have a perfectly good Lean Cuisine frozen lunch in the fridge, and now I want a real Philadelphia mushroom cheesesteak, the (100% authentic) makings for which are just sitting, waiting for me, in a little aluminum cart about 50 yards from the front door of my building.

I realize how deprived folks in the rest of the country are, relying on sad, packaged rolls (shudder), and it makes me want to just run outside and celebrate the availability of this artery-clogging butt-size-increasing treat.

Love the pics!!!
:applause:

33. I've decided that the only advantage
to going to college in South Jersey is that a 20 minute drive over the Ben Franklin gives you access to Philly cheesteaks 24/7. I've taken many rides at midnight with friends to South Street to satisfy my cravings!
