Even though it's HOT as heck, and some are looking forward to fall,
and I, myself have been complaining about the miserable heat...

The thought of summer ending, the back to school supplies and sweaters stacked up at the local Meijer store, the thought of my garden being turned over for another long winter snooze...has me...

...depressed as hell.

I know, I'm crazy like that.

Have a good day DU!!! :hi:

5. You're not alone...about the time school started I used to get that way
Starting in late July or early August I started having dreams that it would snow in August, or some other weather anomoly would happen. I live in Tallahassee and I have had dreams that here in August it snows. It really doesn't snow here in winter. I think one time there were 3 inches on the ground and people thought it was the End Times.

6. I am one of those looking forward to fall
...and football! I love fall clothes, I love fall colors, and I love fall weather. Mmmmm.....crisp fresh apples at the Farmers' Market, warm in the sun, cool in the shade, mellow cool nights on which you can sleep with all the windows open, the first comfort-food meatloaf night after a summer of cold, salady dinners -- I love it all!

I really like living in a four-season state; even in the gloomiest, grayest, coldest part of winter you know spring is coming.

Michigan in the fall is bee-yew-tee-ful.

7. I just knew you were an optimist!
;) I just like the lazy, haziness of summer...even when I complain about the heat. I love the colors here too, but it always makes me sad to see the aspects of our "Vacationland" closing down. :hi:

9. I'm looking forward to fall...
I'm hoping to repeat the little trip I took last October again this year. I went to North Carolina to visit a friend and it was sublime. Perfect hiking in the forrest weather. Perfect Saturday morning at the farmer's market weather. Perfect cuddle up weather. :)

18. Bah! we're only half way through summer
and the best is yet to come! I've noticed from the climate shifts summer starts later and spreads through all of September here in the midwest. August is really hot & fun too! Your garden will soon be reaching full bloom.

23. I look forward to the beauty of fall, the cooler
weather and the freshness in the air. I don't look forward to the passing of another year. I find myself mourning losses as fall approaches, it's a very strange time of year for me. My emotions run deeper in autumn than any other season. I wonder if the trees change colours so spectacularly to sooth our troubled souls? ... weird thoughts, I know ... but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

24.  I think fall always signifies a beginning
Maybe because I'm the daughter of two schoolteachers and I work on a college campus but, to me, fall signifies the beginning of things; a new school year, new clothes, new outlook. The end of August always feels like the end of the year to me.

26. I know the feeling.
I'm a Michigander also. We seem to go from winter to summer without much of a spring. I get depressed in Jan. and Feb. They are our two coldest months and seem to drag on forever. x(
