3. Used to

post on Mark Fiore's forum . http://www.markfiore.com .. because I like his toons. But the board layout is awkward and takes forever to load. Plus they let a freeper run amok. Unless it's really Mark acting like a horse's *ss just to keep the fun rolling.

I get a few Dean yahoo group lists. But, I hate to say, there seems to be a minority of control freaks who try to run the whole show.

What are you looking for? Does the rancor on DU get to you?

6. There's a music-related forum

...that has a corner devoted to general chatter. Often there is political talk. There are a few vocal conservatives of varying degrees of sanity, a few middle-of-the-roaders, and some nice Liberals, a couple of whom read DU from time to time. (Hi Dave, if you see this... Hi Don...)

A cordial group, but nobody seems to convince anyone to change their mind.

most people there are nice to talk to, but of course there are some Repubs and they can be rude if you don't agree with them.

I used to visit the Indy Media sites a lot http://www.indymedia.org/ gives links to all the local pages, unfortunately a large number of freaks post (particularly at the Melb one) and are more interested in calling everyone either an Islamo facist or a Zionazi it very tedious so I've kinda given up on them
