2. Fuckin a he does and he's a hell of a nice guy too |
|
I asked him who is favorite character on The Sopranos is and he said "Tony!" with a big smile and his favorite Yankee is Jeter.
My girlfriend told him his hair looks awesome all spikey and he said "thanks I stuck my finger in an electrical socket and well it had a cool result"
I told him he's a stand up guy, and gave him a bear hug.

4. AWESOME!! Congratulations!! |
|
I have yet to see them live, as every time they hit Vegas I'm broke.
But I've been a fan since "Images and Words" when "Pull Me Under" made it into heavy rotation on the hard rock station up in Minneapolis. I never miss an album, studio or live, although I don't have any collector's stuff or tour exclusives.
No questions I can think of off hand, but let me congratulate you one more time. You're very lucky!

Age is clearly not catching up with these guys and they're still young they'll be around, they were AWESOME in person as well all of them totally nice guys who actually were interested in chatting with us. The only minor thing that sorta sucks is James Labrie scooted early because he wasn't feeling well (I think he went to go throw up or something actually cause he was just looking green when he came out for the photo shoot)
I really couldn't afford these two platinum tickets either, but it was a situation where I thought what better time to do this while I'm here in a Tucson, it's in a small location out on the Yaqi reservation at the casino, and virtually 99% of the people coming are clambering for Megadeth I just couldn't resist the chance to get some real private time with the boys.
In a future post I'll show all the photos and stuff I got and got into detail about I chatted with the band and everything.
Oh yea and John Myung does speak....very much I might add :)

7. Actually he was really cool |
|
I think maybe one reason why he may come off as a prick is because recently he's been getting harassed by fans and the song on the newest album "Octivarium" entitled "Never Enough" is a shot at those fans who give him shit about not writing them back ect.
Well when I talked to him he was really cool, we talked Yankee baseball (his fav player was Thurmon Munson) The Sopranos, he introduced me to his family and kids, he let me and my girl take a photo with him, I told him he was a stand up guy and gave him a bear hug and he didn't mind at all he said to me and my gf "hope to see you guys again"
One thing he did seem was EXHAUSTED and believe me any human being would be after the show they just put on. His demeanor was that of a person who was really trying to talk to you as the fan and all that but just really too tired to be turning cartwheels for you if you get me.
Now as far as who is a pompous prick Dave Mustaine stuck his head out from the backstage door just before Dream Theater came out to see us and me and this other guy yelled "Yo Dave!" and Dave just litrelly ran away.

11. I can understand about being tired |

As a musician myself, I am very familiar with that sort of stuff. At leas Portnoy has roadies totake care of his gear ;)
Glad to see that I was wrong about him.

8. If you have any appreciation for music done by masterful musicians |
|
then you have to check them out. I mean guys who are actually schooled not some guys who started a band just to try to get chicks.
