5. Cos it's so dark and out there?

Why not go all the way and plump for Sauron? :-) too obvious, I guess...

Grima's good...

I like the idea of Gorgoroth as well.

Maybe we're being pessimistic, maybe it's a really NICE planet.

Grima, Grima, Grima - sounds perfect to me. Planet Grima...

Hey, won't it be nice if we can send Chimpy there?

13. Look
It's probably a dark and cold place. Freezing cold.

When we send Chimpy over there it will give a new meaning to the phrase 'when hell freezes over'

12. JANUS, actually

I should have included that in the original poll.

All planets in our solar system (apart from Earth) are named after Roman Gods. Janus is the god of doors and edges of things and cusps. He's also pretty much the only one left we haven't used...

18. There are lots of other Roman gods...
Edited on Sat Jul-30-05 06:47 AM by arcos
Ceres, Pallas, Minerva and Juno are already taken... asteroids bear their names.

So, I vote for Janus or Proserpine!

Apollo - God of the sun
Bacchus - God of wine
Ceres - Goddess of the earth
Cupid - God of love
Diana - Goddess of the moon and hunting
Fortuna - Goddess of luck
Janus - God of doors
Juno - Queen of the gods
Jupiter - King of the gods
Maia - Goddess of growth
Mars - God of war (originally agriculture)
Mercury - Messenger of the gods
Minerva - Goddess of wisdom
Neptune - God of the sea
Pluto - King of the underworld
Proserpine - Queen of the underworld
Quirinus - God of defense & the state
Saturn - God of time
Venus - Goddess of love
Vesta - Goddess of hearth
Vulcan - God of smithing
Uranus - God of the heavens

Were it not that we already have an "underworld" planet. It certainly sounds more interesting than Janus...
