I just received this email to boycott "Mystic River"
Tempted to refute it point by point and send it back. But I don't think it's worth my time.

Subject: Boycott the Mystic River Movie!
A friend sent this to me and I wanted to pass it along:

Mystic River

The new movie Mystic River was released Wednesday, November 5, 2003. It is starring Sean Penn and Tim Robbins, who have been known to spew hate speech against our current President, assaulting his character for doing what he is attempting to do with the war on terror, to protect Americans from further attack. An effort that has been very successful so far. These two liberal actors have sided with Saddam Hussain and Osama Bin Laden and against our own country. This has been demonstrated by Penn in his going to Iraq prior to the war in protest of our pending attack to remove the terrorist regime of Saddam Hussain. He said that we have no right to attack innocent people and that the Bush administration was starting this war.

Let us not forget 9/11/2001. It was NOT President bush who did THAT!!

Perhaps we have no way to let the liberals in Hollywood know that they are just actors .... and not representative of mainstream America. But if each one of us routes this note to all of our friends who support our troops and the administration, and make sure that they do not go to this movie, that is a start .. Encourage all you know ...... not to go to it. By doing this ..... maybe these actors won't be able to get a job.

Look what it did for Alec Baldwin's career! He's a washed up actor that watches his mouth these days.

Because it has already been realeased, I hope you have not gone to see it. So, if you have not already seen it, let the boycott begin!

Route this to every loyal, patriotic person you know and stay away from this movie with these anti-American activists. These are two very outspoken hate ministers and we can make a difference.

7. It is a real email address
I got it from somebody who is on one of my avian email lists, so I would be sending it to her personally. But I don't think I'll bother, because she probably wouldn't get it anyway.

Previews and reviews are useless in forcing me to see a movie. Spite however will work everytime. :D

3. Don't need point by point
Just ask if that dictum about people being 'just actors' also applies to Ronald Reagan, Charlton Heston, and Arnold Schwarzenegger?

31. Directed by known "liberal" Clint Eastwood
so boycotting the movie is going to hurt rightwing Clint.

The movie is very good, I saw it last weekend. I recommend it. The acting is outstanding and so is the directing and score.

14. You don't need to research every point, DUer's live for this kinda stuff.
Alec Baldwin washed up?

He has 21 gigs since he took up Bush bashing. So I think he's doing pretty good. And look at the smarts on him, he had the foresight to remain uncredited in Pluto Nash. Knew it would be a bomb before the studio did.

18. Alec Baldwin is
one of the finest actors today, along with Sean Penn and Tim Robbins. They don't need the right wing-nuts to keep them in the public eye, but it sure hasn't hurt. :)
Ask Al Franken.

19. He is a great actor
but didn't he threaten to leave the coutry if Bush was elected? And he still lives in the good 'ol USA? Something that the conservatives I work with love to point out to me.

"See, you Democrats are all talk and no action, that's why you keep on losing elections."

I really wish he would of left the country and renounced his citizenship. When these empty headed elite say shit like this, and then don't follow through they make all progressives look bad.:wtf:

25. Tried that
but they easily point out that Al Gore is nowhere to be seen...

Alec Baldwin in my opinion never had any intention to leave the country, and has such an overinflated ego that he actually thought his threat would panic the voters?

"Oh my God! We have to vote for Al Gore or that national treasure Alec Baldwin will leave the country!!!" What a dick...

I'd seen the commercial a week or two ago and made a mental note of it, since it looked interesting. Now I definitely plan on seeing it at the first opportunity!

21. Does this dillweed realize that Clint Eastwood directed the picture?
Clint Eastwood, not exactly the biggest liberal in the world (far from it)

So, if an activist actor is part of a film, THAT's why the film should be boycotted? Sounds like the loonie logic I expect from the neanderthals.

26. That was my first thought.
Eastwood and Penn got along great, from all reports. In many ways, the cast and crew's varied political beliefs make this an all-American movie.

That reads like some really bad satire of what some dumbass Republican would say.

If its real, I wouldn't bother to refute it. It is obviously wirtten by someone of very limited mental capacity, thus would be a watse of your time to reply.

32. Tell them that chasing around Iraq isn't going to prevent another 9/11
And then tell them that the Bush administration is cutting back police funds so heavily that cops are getting shot and killed because they have to patrol alone. Read last month's Washington Monthly for the story.

Then ask them if they want to be a party to weakening the police force in this country.

I mean, according to that logic, they couldn't possibly be influencing anyone.

http://66.165.133.65/politics/war/mystic.asp
Basically these people that write shit like this watch movies based on the people's political views...not realizing that those people will get paid regardless of them watching the show. But research is still being conducted...but still...they're dumb
