Found! Pictures of my old Chevy Impala
It's a '66, 396 engine. It didn't look like much, but it was FAST! I was going to restore it, but it was a bit out of my league at the time.

1. Sweet!
Painted cherry red or deep blue and that'd be a cool ride.

2. Deep blue was the plan.
Too bad I had to sell it in the great hobby purge of 1998. The guy I sold it to just wanted the engine and wheels and some other parts. So, it might be a in junk yard now. It would have taken a lot of work, money and time. Oh well...c'est la vie.

4. '58 Chevy Bel Air 4 door hardtop

My first date bait.
I was 17 and it was my mom's car.
Looked a lot like the more prestigious and cool Impala if you didn't look real close.
Ours was silver.
Very cool.

5. When I was born, my dad had a '66 Impala SS, with a 283.
That's why I bought this one. I was going to make an SS clone out of it.

7. Wow! I had a red "67 Impala convertible. 327 w 4 barrel carburetor!
Wish I still had it. Wanted to keep it when I finally had to get a new car but finances just didn't permit even storing it for later.

So sad.

I was living in Dayton, OH, Atlanta, and Los Angeles during those years. I was quite the young, single, slender, long-haired "California Girl" in those days.

Lots of fun, glad I had it, don't need to do it again.

The only year of that body style, IIRC.

11. My Lucy... 1967 Ford Galaxie 500....
this is not my Lucy, she was in MUCH better shape. Powder blue, baby moon hubs, white walls, a carburetor hi-jacked from a police chase car, ancient glass-packs, and enough room for 2 adults, 3 kids and camping gear for the weekend. Best road trip car ever. Average 70 MPH,18 MPG from CO to OR (9 years ago). Best Road Trip Car EVER. She was left in my care by a very dear friend who was taken by cancer. I finally had to let Lucy go, there were bills to pay, she need far more care than I could give her. She had a serious case of cancer from being driven on rural salted roads in Kansas for so many years. I was promised she would be cared for and restored, but to my horror, I saw her sitting in front of his house 2 years later, flat tires, parts missing. Poor Lucy. Sorry ML, I couldn't take care of her.

13. I had to look,
my friend had one and I have tonnes of memories of that car. Yours is not quite the same, I think his was a couple of years older. It was blue too, but maybe a little bit darker. Thanks for sharing.:hi:
