Ever google childhood friends?
I just googled the names of five kids who lived next door to us for years in the 60s and early 70s. Their dad and our dad car pooled. Because they were second-generation Japanese, they had an unusual (for the US) last name combined with fairly distinctive American first names, making them easy to google. One daughter is lawyer. A son is a pediatrician. Another daughter is thanked for helping on someone's educational project. Two sons are not found.

3. Be careful what you wish for
I googled my best friends from elementary school. All seem to be far more successful than me. Damn!

4. I did
Found one that is a pianist. When I first googled him, I learned only a couple days too late that he had given a performance in a library only 20 minutes from me. Later on he got his own website which makes it easier for me to keep tabs. No, I havent contacted him and havent been in touch with him since I moved out of the neighborhood we shared as kids over 25 years ago.

Another childhood friend I googled, only to find that her high school reunion was coming up and her classmates were looking for her. I myself had no clue as to where she was currently living, but I still had the name, address, and phone number of her parents. So I contacted the organizers of the reunion, and provided them with that info so that they can provide an invitation to the reunion.
