Enigmatic got into a car wreck this afternoon..... |
|
He just e-mailed me. He said he and his wife were smacked by a lady on a cell phone. His car was totalled, but they all got away with just sprains and bruises, so they're fine. He said he'll probably be around later, but if not, well, that's the reason why. But, the good thing is he and his wife are alright. :: whew ::

Man, I am really glad he (and she) are okay! enigmatic's one of the good ones.
Get better soon, fella! And if DU can pitch in to try and save Andy Stephenson's life, I'm sure we can do something about that car. (okay, maybe not.)
Hang in there, bud!

16. Never EVER talk and drive at the same time. EVER |
|
I used to do that and, in deed, had a couple of close calls. Then a couple of years ago some lady chatting in a cell phone rear ended an 18 wheeler on the freeway here in town, causing considerable damage to her windshield, front grill, dashboard, car roof, face, and severed head. The good news is she doesn't speed on the freeway or use her cell phone while driving anymore.
The bad news is, of course, that she's still got a severed head.

20. What is up with these idiots on cellphones driving anyway? |
|
I used to have mine set up so it played through the car stereo, and even that was a distraction. I usually ended up pulling over anyway.
Some yuppie piece of crap in a Range Rover just about took me out in a crosswalk last summer. Being 6'6" and around 300 lbs, I'm easily seen, but that moran was oblivious. Until I got right up next to his window and yelled "Hang up and watch where you're going, you fucking piece of SUV driving shit!!".
Glad to hear they're both OK. Nobody should ever have to suffer because of someone else's plain IDIOCY like that.

Couldn't sleep so I'm up for a little bit. We're ok, just a little banged up.
I don't want to talk about the accident; let's jusr say that us, the witnesses, and the police all agree on whose fault it was was, and it wasn't ours.
I'll take a beer if anybody's got one, though..

Still cracking jokes. Yeah I called Mom a bit ago too. That's why I was gone for an hour. She's pretty pissed. :)
Seriously, it's a relief to know you're alright. One of my brother's had an accident at work, dislocated his elbow and broke his arm running some heavy equipment. Looks like being my brother is turning out to be pretty unlucky today. :)
Just kick back and take it easy. No use stressing yourself or anything. More beer!

Holy moly! I guess there wasn't a Hortons nearby...
Your accident comes on the heels of the cops telling everyone to watch out after that rollover on the Whitemud that sent a pregnant woman to hospital in critical condition. Drivers in this city are crazy.
Doesn't matter whether one is physically hurt or not, they're still very traumatic.

35. I was in the garden for about 1/2 hr today |
|
and felt like collapsing...3 hours, and I probably would have.
I'm more than happy with the 22, 24c we'd been having lately. Tomorrow's supposed to be 30c.
I used to live in Fort Mac, and it was funny not only how little time it took the cops to get to an accident (I had two, no one seriously injured...one was the other guys' fault, the other technically was mind even though it was on a very icy uphill and windy driveway into the college, and the college was the real one at fault for not trying to break some of the ice up...oh, and of course they did, after the accident :grr: )
Not only were cops available very quickly, but they brought the whole damn force with them! It was nothing to see 4-6 cop cars for a little dent on a car. Must have been a few slow days...
