Fundies are nosy and pushy.
I had a late dinner with my mother and an older lady I didn't recognize approached the table. She asked if I still heard from an old high school friend. (No.) Then she asked if this high school friend was still "walking with the Lord." I looked at her and said, "I hope not."

What's with fundies not minding their own business? I didn't even recognize the woman!

I'm sure my response infuriated my mother, but to her credit, she said nothing. The lady said she would "pray for me" and my mother nodded emphatically.

Who gave this lady permission to pray for me? Praying and casting spells are two sides of the same coin. I don't believe in either, but still, it's pushy and nosy, ain't it?

AND WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING STILL LIVING IN THIS REASON-FORSAKEN TOWN???

1. The key is...
Say "I'll pray for you" BEFORE they do. I'm a Christian, but not the kind they are...I always love seeing their reaction when I beat them to the punch ;) The look on a fundie's face when a liberal Christian says "I'll pray for you" is classic!

2. LOL...I'd pay to see that. :)
But you'd have to make sure the person KNEW you were a liberal Christian to get the full effect. :D

14. the last time someone said they'd pray for me...
I replied that it wouldn;t make any difference because I discovered how much I enjoyed sin.

They haven't bothered me since.

3. I'm also sick of "Being Forgiven"
Especially for things that are not even considered a "Sin".

11. Yeah, she said, "I love you anyway."
If you parse that, it means that she loves me in spite of my unbelief, which she disapproves of even though it's none of her business. And I don't know her...how can she love me? I don't love her. I don't know her.

15. When a fundie says "I love you" to me, i reply with......
"Really? Cool!! Can you come over on saturday and paint my garage?" Of course, they always hem and haw to which i reply "Well, if i loved YOU i'd be more than HAPPY to paint YOUR garage. You dont REAllY LOVE ME, do you?"

The old "I love you cause i'm a christian" line is quite simply, bullshit. No reasonable person can possibly love someone or something they know nothing about.

16. Yeah! Busybodies!
They are like watch dogs - always looking at what other people are doing and butting in to make a federal case out of everything they don't approve of.

Evidently she made up her mind you are in need of her "special" care. I'd have to tell her no thanks.

8. Someone just told me not to say anything next time, but I'm tired of
letting fundies get away with their crap. They need to know they're being presumptuous, nosy and rude.

9. I agree
Remember the good old days when it was considered rude to talk about religion with folks you don't know well?

12. A friend of mine responds to
"I'll pray for you" with "thanks, I'll be sure to burn a puppy for you".

I almost choked the first time I heard him do it.

13. If I was in a really strange mood
I used to chant and then pretend to speak in tongues.
Just say "hummanasumanacumanawamana" repeatedly while waving your arms in the air. Then fall on the floor, pretending to be blinded and say that you see a vision.
Gets alot of attention in public but it usually scares the shit out of them(and I am a very liberal Christian so I'm not making fun of Christianity, just fundies and evangelicals).

18. I've got a better way to do tounges...
Just repeat the following sentences as fast as you possibly can,

"She came in a Honda. She came in a red Honda."

For the full effect, collapse to the floor and jerk and lurch around like you are having grand mal seizures while saying the line.

It looks really realistic.
