I don't mind when most of my mundane posts go down the crapper of archive history, but man, when my "brilliant" ones are ignored, I begin to question humanity and my place within it.

When I post those types of threads, I read every single post. I wouldn't ask the question if I didn't want to read people's answers. Seriously - if you look at that thread, there are very few responses to any of the posts.
