An Air National Guard unit from our area is being deployed this week and my friends - two good liberals - are facing separation as he is being sent over for the first time, and she will remain here with their 1 year-old toddler. Not a unique story by any means, I know, but this is the closest the war has come to my little circle.

And all the men and women in Iraq and other areas of the world that are in the military. I have a friend who's son is being deployed in December and it is really tough to talk to her about it. Being positive is the best I can do for her.
