2. Doesn't her uncle say that what's her name is gonna be in the hospital
for a long time and that the dog px. will blow over by the time she is out?

BTW, Toto is dead. He died in 1944. These things have a way of working themselves out. :D

3. I never thought of that.
Maybe that's why Dorothy is insane and Toto is missing from the "sequel." :)

4. I always assumed
that Miss Gulch was killed by the tornado. Works for me.

5. I just saw John Waters in Pittsburgh Saturday Night. He had a great
point about the Wizard. Why the Hell would Dorothy ever want to go back to Kansas? She had this great location, all sorts of cool things -- yellow brick roads, flying monkey's, witches, munchkins. There was no reason to go back. Waters said every time he watched the movie, he'd hope and pray that clicking her heels woldn't work. I agree. In any case, the dog got the better deal. Nobody killed Toto.

I suppose next, you're going to tell me that the Ginger Bread man was caught and eaten. Not in the version of the book I gave my daughter (which I altered).

6. You forgot. There's no place like home. So what's the matter with Kansas?
Had to be said.

7. In the books, it wasn't a dream
and Dorothy and Toto went back to Oz and she had many cool adventures in all these different Oz countries. Kind of the Harry Potter of the day.

10. Yeah. I see the book and movie as almost completely different stories.
Just the same characters and generally the same setting.

11. You need to read Farmer's "Barnstormer over Oz"
He goes on the basis that the first book was a true story and the rest were made up, as Baum himself admits in one of the forewards, that he is getting ideas from kids who write him.

9. I'd always assumed that since her counterpart died.

The Kansas hag had died too.

Probably in the tornado.

Especially since Toto is free, and Dorothy had been "out of it" awhile.

15. YES, THAT'S THE 'HOLE' ALRIGHT...
...YES, IN A STORY IN WHICH A PRETEEN GIRL IS SUCKED INTO AN ALTERNATE, TECHNICOLOUR UNIVERSE BY A KANSAS TORNADO, BEFRIENDED BY A SCARECROW, A MAN MADE OF OILCANS, AND A BIPEDAL LION, AND IS PURSUED UP A GOLDEN STREET BY A VENGEFUL, GREEN WITCH TO A CITY MADE OF EMERALDS, THE HOLE IS THAT THERE'S NO CLOSURE ON HER DOG.

YOU, MY FRIEND, ARE INSANE.
