I need a pep talk...
I got the news that I am being transferred to a different department at work today. I was assured by a supervisor that I trust and love to death, that I'm not being transferred because I'm doing a bad job, because I'm doing great. Rather, it's because we're over staffed and the department I'm going to is understaffed. The department I'm moving to is the favorte sister department, the one that makes the money and gets everything, so that's good. But the problem is I've made friends, and I love the people I work with. The department I'm in right now is the red headed stepchild, and loses money frequently, but we're foreclosure. It's not our fault. It is a necessary evil. Anyway. I'm just a bit sad and I've come home early because I'm just a little stressed and needed to relax. I've got extra time, so it's not a big deal, but I'm just crying a lot for some stupid reason. Anyway, enough rambling. Will someone, several someones, give me a pep talk, make me feel betteR? Thanks.

2. Since you are doing a great job, when you move to the favored
department, you will actually get more attention from upper management for the great work you are doing. Is the new job in a different building from your present one? If not, you still can go to lunch with your current friends. Who knows, maybe the new department will be filed with nice folks.

4. Well, usually the loss mit people are rude to everyone else...
Maybe since I'll be in their department, they'll be nice. And you have a point about te upper management thing. I just liked my department and the law offices that we work with. It was interesting, never boring and fun.

6. You've been through lots of changes lately. Try to do good things for
yourself. It's nice that your work is being recognized, but sad that you're moving away from your friends in your current department.

I think you'll make new friends, and of course you can keep in touch with your old buddies.

Hang in there!

Everything good usually comes when a change is made.

10. Change can be intimidating
But it can also be very good. Though I understand not wanting to leave friends and a comfortable place, that's how jobs are. We wouldn't get much of anywhere in our work if we couldn't step into other positions.

Try to look at it positively and it will likely BE positive. Chin up! You'll be a superstar over there!
