FOUR WEEKS UNTIL I SEE GREEN DAY IN CONCERT

want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority

I pledge allegiance to the underworld
One nation under dog
There of which I stand alone
A face in the crowd
Unsung, against the mold
Without a doubt
Singled out
The only way I know

'Cause I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority

Stepped out of the line
Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time
To my own beat now
The only way I know

One light, one mind
Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
For crying out loud she screamed unto me
A free for all
Fuck 'em all
You are at your own sight

'Cause I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority, hey!
(Insert guitar solo here)

One light, one mind
Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
For crying out loud she screamed unto me
A free for all
Fuck 'em all
You are at your own sight

'Cause I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority
the minority (x4)

12. I have relatives in the same town that Uncle Tupelo was formed in.
I thought nothing good ever came out of Belleville, IL, but at least one good thing did.

11. I lucked out with these tickets
Lawn seats at the Merriweather Post Pavillion outside of Baltimore. I usually see my concerts in the Philly area, but the Wach was sold out.

I'm not a big Green Day fan, but they do put on a pretty cool show from what I've seen over the years..

15. I was never much of a fan of theirs until the past couple of years
I started to listen to them after the Nimrod album and American Idiot album put me over the edge. They've actually cracked the top#5 of my favorite all time band and there are some mightly big names in that list

16. I was into them back in the Dookie/Insomniac days
But kinda got bored with them. American Idiot is a pretty good album though.

You should check out the band RX Bandits. Sort of a similar vibe as Green Day I think, though a bit more of a noticable reggae influence as well, but some seriously good political punk. Their album "The Resignation" has one of my favourite anti-war songs of all time, "Overcome".
