2. oops... reminds me of a great scene I saw once out
on the open ocean...

there was an awk and 4-5 babies swimming behind it... one by one they were getting gobbled up by small sharks or dogfish until there was only one... then mom noticed and started beating the water like crazy.

9. Thank goodness...
I witnessed about 5 of the little tykes trying to cross a busy road a few weeks ago...I tried to get traffic to slow down but most were going too fast and I think only 2 made it :(

10. In Seattle, I've seen traffic come to a complete stop
when a "mom" duck is trying to cross the street with the "kids." They're usually just heading back to the lake and sometimes they do fall in the storm drains...you just lift up the grate and lift them out!

Cute pix...thanks!

11. Aww...thats good!
Usually people here in PA will go out of their way to avoid them - only saw one tragedy once on a very busy, high-speed road where traffic was just going too fast to stop in time. Poor little babes. :( I'm glad these guys were rescued though!
