I love airports
I love the excitement of the people you can feel. Normally I enjoy going there and just suck in this excitement. Yesterday I hated it. I picked up my mom. I was yearning to buy me a ticket and fly somewhere. It was overwhelming.

3. yes.
I wanted soo bad to get on an airplane and go on vacation. I never felt this strong about it before when I picked someone up or brought someone to the airport.

6. I actually like that airport . Just something about it .
Its like the United Nations of airports - As I was walking through FraPort City ;) on my way back home to the States I was going " wow " at all the many different languages I could hear as I walked through the terminals .

7. I know
normally I enjoy hearing the American English. But yesterday at the airport ... it just kinda hurt.
Where my mom was landing, there were also planes from NYC landing. A lot of Americans waiting on their family and friends. It drove me nut. I really had a knot in my stomach.

13. that is cool
that shows that you still know the language. Keep up with it. Read in German, watch movies in German. If you have the chance, talk in German.

10. I wonder where they're from? What language is that? I wonder where they're
going?
Frankfurt was great for that.

I love them for the people-watching opportunities.

15. but airports are still different than train stations
at train stations I don't have that feeling. Maybe because I am more often taking the train than the plane

16. Ah, I see.
I spent so many years driving in the US, that I get that same feeling from all forms of public transportation. There's something about public transport that's more personal than just passing someone in a car.

17. that is true
to hear all the different languages, to see the joy in the face of people greeting each other, the sad faces when saying good-bye ... you don't have that when taking the car.

2. When I was in the Army in Germany, I'd get high as hell and go
to Frankfort International and just sit on a bench, drink beer and watch people for hours.

4. I enjoy this too
just not yesterday.

I also enjoy walking outside the airport near the Rhein-Main-base and watch the planes land.

9. I love the infrastructure of the whole airport system
I feel as if, when I'm standing in an airport, I'm somehow connected to the whole world. Yeah, I'm weird like that.
