Dukes of Hazzard and the rebel flag
Just got back from it and I liked it alot. Just tryin to figure out why they had to draw attention to the rebel flag on top of the car. It was ignored in the tv show and it should have been in the movie. The Duke boys aren't racist, why did they have to make a deal out of it whatsoever?

P.s. Does this mean Howard Dean wants to be their candidate?:)

1. No, it means George Bush IS their candidate.....

...And Howard Dean's comments were that he felt that some Southerners needed to be educated in that they were voting against their best economic interest by voting for Bush. And he's right. As a Southerner, I see it everyday when I see a broken down car on the road, barely running, and there's a Bush sticker on the back.

On edit: And I'm sure people voting against their own best economic interest, is not strictly a Southern phenomenon.

5. Uh no--you're right in that it isn't just a southern phenom...
I'm still awestruck by several groups voting for * and against their own economic, personal and civil rights interests.

1.African Americans that were duped by the 'religious issues vs. gay issues,'particularly the ones that are in no way a member of the wealthy or elite.

2. Hispanics, Mexican Americans same, similiar reasons they were duped.

3. Gays that were pro *.

:grr:

2. I thought the Rebel Flag was going to be left off.
Was it actually on the car in the movie? It didn't really look like it in the commercials.

3. not at first
It came in after the first third of the movie

And why should they leave it off? Cause some people might get offended? It's a movie people. If there's something in it that offends you don't see it

4. I agree.
My wife and I don't really go to movies very often, but we rent them a lot and watch as we're gorging ourselves on Chinese or Mexican food. I'm sure we'll rent this movie when it comes out on DVD. The nostalgia factor and the chance to see Jessica Simpson in Daisy Duke attire are too good to pass up.
