Neither one of those assholes were cowboys...and Dim son even less than Ray-gun. At least Ray-gun played one in movies.

Dimwits, one and all. If they were not so dangerous, they could almost be pathetic.

Check out www.allhatnocattle.com

Texans have a phrase "All Hat and no cattle." This phrase applies to pretend cowboys that dress and talk the part, but are pretending to be what they aren't.

I once heard Ann Richards describe her opponent in the Texas Governor's race as All Hat No Cattle. Her opponent was George W. Bush. When I needed a name for this website, that phrase immediately came to mind.

19. You should have seen the email my uncle sent me that this
was based upon. We almost came to blows over it. I found it and will post it here so you can get the full effect of the thing you saw:

Here it is in all its stupefying 514K.

______________________________________________

It used to tick me off when the Muslim detractors in the Middle East, or the socialist detractors in Europe, Hollywood and others called our President a cowboy, but the more I think about it, the more glad I am that he is.

When I was a kid, cowboys were my heroes. !

Well, I mean the ones in the white hats, not the black hats, who were usually the bad guys.

There was Tex Ritter, Tom Mix, Buck Jones,

Hopalong Cassidy, the Lone Ranger.....

there was Red Ryder, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers......

then later, there was Marshall Matt Dillon, Hoss & Li'l Joe Cartwright,

Paladin, Maverick and others....

Rawhide's Rowdy Yates

What were common attributes of these legendary cowboys?

Here are a few:

1. They were never looking for trouble.

2. But when trouble came, they faced it with courage.

3. They were always on the side of right.

4. They defended good people against bad people.

5. They had high morals.

6. They had good manners.

7. They were honest.

8. They spoke their minds and they spoke the truth,
regardless of what people thought or "political correctness,"
which no one had ever heard of back then.

9. They were a beacon of integrity in the wild, wild West.

10. They were respected. When they walked into a saloon
(where they usually drank only sasaparilla), the place became quiet, and the bad guys kept their distance.

11. If in a gunfight, they could outdraw anyone. If in a fist fight, they could beat up anyone.

12. They always won. They always got their man. In victory, they rode off into the sunset.

Those were the days when there was such a thing as right and wrong,
something blurred in our modern world, and denied by many.

Now, as a senior citizen, I still like cowboys..

They represent something good -- something pure that America has been missing.

Ronald Reagan was a cowboy.

I like Ronald Reagan, who was brave, positive, and who gave us hope.
He wore a white hat. To the consternation of his liberal critics, he had the courage to call a spade a spade and call the former Soviet Union what it was -- the evil empire. Liberals hated Ronald Reagan.!

They also hate President Bush because he distinguishes between good and evil. He calls a spade a spade, and after 9-11 called evil "evil," without mincing any words, to the shock of the liberal establishment. That's what cowboys do, you know.

He also told the French to "put their cards on the table" (old West talk), which they did, exposing their cowardice and greed.

The radical Muslims are wrong.*

In the old West, might did not make right.

Right made might.

Cowboys in white hats were always on the side of right, and that was their might.

I am glad my President is a cowboy.

He got his man!

Cowboys do, you know.

I support our President. Support our troops. Freedom isn't free.

37. That poor horribly deluded soul.
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 12:16 AM by Bouncy Ball
Whoever wrote that, God, how out of touch with reality can they get?

Except for #1 on that list (can't really say if he goes looking for trouble, but sure seems like it), the rest of it he completely violates:

3. They were always on the side of right.

Nope, attacking a country that did nothing to us isn't right. No matter how you twist and contort yourself.

4. They defended good people against bad people.

Uh, nope. 3000 Americans died on his watch. And over 100,000 Iraqis and 1800 US troops have been killed as a result of his immoral, illegal war on a country that did nothing to us. Doesn't qualify in my book as defending good people. Qualifies as having good people killed or in the case of 9/11, letting them be killed, despite numerous SPECIFIC WARNINGS.

5. They had high morals.

See # 3 and 4. He is automatically disqualified from this. See bloodshed in Iraq.

6. They had good manners.

I have so many examples of this man being a horse's ass, I don't know where to start. A recent one would be calling the retiring Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O'Connor an "old gal." Cleaning his reading glasses on the sweater of a woman fixing the microphones on The Letterman Show. Flipping people off. Bombing a country that did nothing to us is pretty damn rude, too.

7. They were honest.

Lying about the reasons why we should attack another country would disqualify you pretty badly.

8. They spoke their minds and they spoke the truth,
regardless of what people thought or "political correctness,"
which no one had ever heard of back then.

Spoke the truth? bush and speaking the truth? Doesn't compute. If he's talking, he's lying.

9. They were a beacon of integrity in the wild, wild West.

bush a beacon of integrity? A lying warmongering treasonous son of a bitch hardly is a beacon of integrity.

10. They were respected. When they walked into a saloon
(where they usually drank only sasaparilla), the place became quiet, and the bad guys kept their distance.

Um, he IS the bad guy. One of many. He's the American Bad Guy, much to all of our shame.

11. If in a gunfight, they could outdraw anyone. If in a fist fight, they could beat up anyone.

ROFL! This is a guy who is terrified of horses. Ooooookay. *I* could take him. And considering his physical and cognitive decline over the past several years, I think possibly Haley Joel Osment could take him, too.

12. They always won. They always got their man. In victory, they rode off into the sunset.

Victory? Where? What victory? Does this guy call the deaths of thousands of innocents and the destruction of a country victory? Wow, how fucked up.

By the way, bush is not from Texas, he's from Connecticut. He's not a cowboy, he's afraid of horses. YOU CANNOT BE A COWBOY AND BE AFRAID OF HORSES. It's like Rule #1, ok? It's just NOT done. He's not a rancher, never has been, never will be. He's from a northeastern blueblood family of privilege and he cackles all day thinking about how he's fooled idoits like the deluded soul who wrote that sad pitiful email.

He plays dress up. REAL role models do NOT play dress up, they are the real thing. They feel no need to prance around on an aircraft carrier pretending to be a flyboy when they aren't. They feel no need to pretend to work "cutting brush" if they aren't actually allergic to working any harder than it takes to pour a Wild Turkey and turn on the Cartoon Network. Actually the real thing doesn't need to SAY five hundred fucking times how hard their job is and how much work it is. THEY JUST FUCKING DO IT. Actions speak louder than words or costumes.

If you are the real thing, people will know it and there is no need for fucking COSTUMES and DRESS UP and having a bad case of verbal diarrhea trying to convince people you are something you are not.

And people of integrity, by the way, see right through that crap like Saran wrap on an ice cube.
