1. The devil take him for that ghastly Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. |
|
All those pyramidally set windows on a lakefront where there are fucktons of seagulls? Not just stupid, disgusting.

7. Don't get me started on that fucking Rock n Roll |

Piece of shit building that took away some of the best public access to the Lake in Cleveland away from the public....
And Pei, he just phoned it in.....
Took some old drawings and just put a new heading on them.....
Damn, the place is ghastly, as asthmaticeog so eloquently put it....
I have to drive by that fucking eye sore at least fifteen twenty times a year and just cringe...
You know what the place is....
The worlds most expensively subsidized catering hall.....

Have you been to see his addition to the Louvre? Of course, whether you have or not doesn't matter to me...but seeing it in person does make a difference....
I've been there and it is magnificent...Lets in showers of light. It is just a stupendously attractive addition, IMHO...

9. I've only seen pictures |
|
and it looks terribly out of place with the older structure. You've got this magnificent old building, with a modern addition that, from the photos at least, obscures the architecture of the older building. And aren't "showers of light" bad for the art? It looks like a greenhouse...

10. Photos can give a false impression of how buildings fit together... |
|
And to my eye, anyway, this pyramid looks wonderful on that old building...
BTW, the pyramid does not obscure any of the wonderful old building....it is out in a large plaza. No obstruction at all...
Yes, "showers of light" are bad for the art work...and there isn't anything vulnerable in the atrium below...
I think I remember there being only some sculpture there...mostly the atrium is for ticket buying, the gift shop and other things like that which are not harmed...
Go visit it! You won't be sorry, and then you can judge it for yourself...
