2. Not too terribly long, sort of. |

As the crow flies, it's under a mile, but in reality, my neighborhood is cut off from the downtown area by Northeast Ohio's scenic industrial valley, so it's a long and convoluted route full of steep hills and river-crossings. I'm going to wuss out and hit a coworker up for a lift home - the rain's just getting harder and harder.

As a former short-term Pittsburgher, I know how hard the topography in that region can be.

6. Yep - don't know why I didn't check the weather report this morning. |
|
I've gotten so used to riding to work every day that I guess I started taking the weather for granted, which, to any Cleveland-dweller, spells doom.

I was a bike messenger in S.F. for six years. Oh how I HATED those fucking El Nino seasons! If I can endure working the whole day in rain trying in vain to keep my packages & smokes dry, I'm sure the commute home will be tolerable at best.

Hats off to you for doing the bike-courier thing in such a hilly city. If I moved there I'd probably sell my bike and buy a Vespa.
