What's the funkiest song ever?
I'm listening to Black Dog by Led Zep right now, and it's definitely up there...but I don't know that it is *the* funk.

I'm thinking it's something by Sly Stone or Prince. Or maybe KC and the Sunshine Band. :silly:

but that's a bit obvious don't you think, what with funk in their name? :silly:

That is a cool song though.

can't be argued that that's one DAMN funky song, though!

I think it may very well be THE funkiest song ever, in my book.

And then there's Earth Wind and Fire: "Shining Star" et al.

58. KC is Disco which is UN-Funk...
Check out "Hardcore Jollies"
"Standin' On The Verge Of Gettin' It On"
"Cosmic Slop"
"Let's Take It To The Stage"
"Tales Of Kidd Funkadelic"
"Maggot Brain" and
"Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow"

To me any albums by George Clinton after (and including) the song "Flashlight" was a lil too disco.

29. Dr.Demento's Fish Heads
Fish Heads

Fish heads fish heads
Roly poly fish heads
Fish heads fish heads
Eat them up
Yum

In the morning laughing happy fish heads
In the evening floating in the soup

Ask a fish head anything you want to
They won't answer they can't talk

I took a fish head out to see a movie
Didn't have to pay to get it in

They can't play baseball they don't wear sweaters
They're not good dancers they don't play drums

Roly poly fish heads are never seen
Drinking cappuccino in Italian restaurants
with Oriental women

Yeah.
Yumm!
Fish heads, fish heads, rolly polly fish heads
Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up

Fish heads, fish heads, rolly polly fish heads
Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up
Yummmm!

Yeeaahh

34. Play That Funky Music, White Boy...
Hey do it now
yeah hey

Yeah,
There was a funky singer
Playin' in a rock & Roll Band
And never had no problems yeah
Burnin' down one night stands
And everything around me,
yeah
Got to stop to feelin' so low
And I decided quickly,
Yes I did
To disco down and check out the show
Yeah they was

Dancin' and singin'
and movin' to the groovin'
And just when it hit me somebody turned around and shouted
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Lay down that boogie and play that funky music till you die
Till you die ,
oh till you die

Gonna play that electified funky music, yeah

Spoken:
Hey wait a minute
Now first it wasn't easy
Changin' Rock & Roll and minds
And things were getting shaky
I thought I'd have to leave it behind
But now its so much better
it's so much better
I'm funking out in every way
But I'll never lose that feelin'
no I won't
Of how I learned my lesson that day

When they were...
Dancin' and singin'
and movin' to the groovin'
And just when it hit me somebody turned around and shouted
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Lay down that boogie and play that funky music till you die
Till you die,
oh till you die

They shouted play that funky music
Play that funky music
Play that funky music
Gotta keep on playin'
funky music
Play that funky music

I said, "I must go back there"…and check to see if things still the same
