I acquired a taste for it in L.A., but except for the Pepperidge Farm brand, I'm finding it a real bitch to get here in central Mass. That sucks--it's the only bread I have found that retains that bit of chew and crunch when you're making toast. Most white breads tend to get soggy once you've added margarine or butter, and the wheat breads tend to stay too crispy. None of them act like the sourdough.
I just got a new breadmaker, so I'm gonna try making a starter to make some sourdough. First time I'm gonna try, so wish me luck!
