The Addams Family, or the Munsters?
Which is your favorite?

I liked the Addams Family more, but still liked the Munsters.

6. Welcome to DU!
Though the Osbourne's are a gothic, dark, weird type family, I don't consider them part of this particular question.

They are pretty funny, though.

:hi:

7. Addams Family
I had a crush for awhile on John Astin. :)

And I think that while the Munsters kind of thought of themselves as "normal" the Addams family had no such notion and enjoyed their singularity far more.

15. Yeah, I always got the idea that they didn't give a crap that they were
strange. That was cool to me!

9. The Addams all the way!
Edited on Tue Aug-09-05 06:46 PM by stlsaxman
The Munsters had okay writers, i s'pose....

but short of Edward Gorey- no one could even come CLOSE to Charles Addams.

on edit- oh and Carolyn Jones and Dianna Rigg were my first crushes. I wasn't even old enough to know what men and women could do with each other but I knew instantly when I saw those two that I loved women. Call it an instinctual hunch.

10. Addams Family
They were genuinely weird, where the Munsters were just the Cleavers in monster suits.

17. Munsters
They were stupider, and therefore better. And with cars that rocked on toast.

The Addams Family were too creepy to be such mindless fun.

18. Addams Family definitely a better show
Although I think Fred Gwynne (Herman Munster) was the best actor in both shows. IMSNHO, he carried the Munsters - - and in some really challenging makeup and costumes.

He wrote some fun children's books to:

They're creepy and they're kookey.
Mysterious and spookey.
They're altogether together ookey.
The Addams Family.

The house is a museum.
When people come to see'em.
They really are a scre-am.
The Addams Family.

Neat

Sweet

Petite

So get a witch's shawl on.
A broomstick you can crawl on.
We're going to pay a call on.
The Addams Family.

Lyrics by Vic Mizzy.

NO Contest...
Never missed a show! Or a rerun:evilgrin:

22. I like the Munsters...
because they were just too funny in my opinion. I loved Herman, because he acted like a little kid in most of the episodes.
