10. Two Rivers, Wis----
Yes, there is a confluence of 2 rivers, that both feed into Lake Michigan. Relatively good fishing on both, and great for boating and snowmobiling.
As to my name, I was a journeyman sheet metal worker for 35 years. Tinner alludes to the occupation of someone who can solder metals together, using copper soldering irons, which are kept clean by "tinning", or coating the hot iron with solder. It is somewhat of a lost art, being replaced in many instances by welding, or mechanical fastening, now days.

12. what are the rivers' names
Edited on Sun Nov-09-03 10:30 AM by cosmicdot
I fell in love with the word 'confluence' ... oh, back in the 70s when I was teaching and first learned it in regards to Pittsburgh, where the Ohio if formed at 3 Rivers Stadium by the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers

the two 'n's' made me think it would be 'tin'-ny vs. 'ti-ny'

maybe you could transfer your journeyman trade from manufacturing to works of art??

It doesn't take long; take my word for it. Before long you'll be in the 700 Club and wonder how you got there!:hi:

11. I am a neophyte here, compared to many
You will find out that DU can be addictive, but also a great place to meet like-minded people. I reached 1000 before I knew it. I have often said that DU is like a family. People come here with their problems and their triumphs and always find kind souls to listen, congratulate and to sympathize. I welcome you again, Kurt Remarque! You have come to the right place!:hi:
