Why do people at functions insist on taking pictures
of the cake?

And have you ever shown anyone a picture of a cake years later? Is it just that we can't believe we had a cake unless there is a picture of it?

Not weddings, I kind of understand that.

I mean birthdays, and such.

1. I don't know...
but I'd rather they take pictures of the cake than take pictures of me. There are few things that irritate me more than having a picture taken just as I'm shoveling a mouthful of barbecue into me mouth or scratching an armpit (not at the same time).

2. Sometimes, the cake is actually ....
worthy of a pic. Usually, it's just a local grocery store bakery thing like a million others, though.

3. If the cake is a work of art, it's good to document it
Before it ends up in peoples' bellies

4. "we can't believe we had a cake unless there is a picture of it"

Well, I have to admit that I take pics of my kids' cakes, because I put a lot of time, energy, and profanity (because they both have summer birthdays, and it's tough working with icing in hot weather)into decorating them.

One day they'll look at those pictures and remember their generally even-tempered mom getting huffy over their birthday cakes.

5. Yes, 9 separate, cascading, fruit topped cheesecakes with
a 12" plain (my favorite) cheesecake for the grooms cake. We had the messiest "cake feeding" ever.:bounce:
